Protein shouldn't sit heavy.
If protein shakes leave you uncomfortable, the reason is usually on the label. This is an honest walkthrough of what tends to cause it, what we left out of Kultra, and how to test it properly for yourself.
- 26g protein per serving
- 3 ingredients
- No gums or thickeners
- Contains milk

Why shakes feel heavy
Not all protein discomfort has the same cause. These are the usual suspects, in rough order of how often they turn up.
-
1. Lactose.
Whey concentrate keeps some of the milk's natural lactose. Budget blends can carry several grams per serving, and the research bodies note that while most people handle up to 12g of lactose in one sitting, some notice symptoms well below half that. The amount in your shake depends entirely on how the whey was filtered.
-
2. Gums and thickeners.
Xanthan gum, guar gum and carrageenan make a thin shake feel creamy. They are also fermentable, which is exactly what you don't want if your stomach is already sensitive to them.
-
3. Artificial sweeteners.
Sucralose and acesulfame K are in most mainstream tubs. Research on how they interact with gut bacteria is still unfolding, and some people simply notice they feel better without them.
-
4. The serving itself.
Forty-gram scoops, milk instead of water, drunk in one go after training. Sometimes the fix is as simple as a smaller serving taken slower.
None of this is medical advice. If something consistently disagrees with you, that's a conversation for your GP, not a protein brand.
What we did about it
Kultra is goat whey protein concentrate, natural vanilla and stevia leaf extract. The whole recipe. Here's how that answers each suspect above.

-
1. On lactose: honest numbers.
Each 33g serving carries about 1.5g of lactose. That's low, but it is not zero, and we won't call it lactose-free. If you know your own threshold, now you know ours.
-
2. On gums: there aren't any.
97% of every scoop is the goat whey itself, so there's no thin mix to disguise. Nothing to thicken, nothing to ferment.
-
3. On sweeteners: stevia, lightly.
We sweeten with 80mg of stevia leaf extract per serving. It's still a sweetener, and we're upfront about that. It's simply the one we're comfortable putting in something you drink every day.
-
4. On the serving: yours to control.
A full serving gives you 26g of protein. Plenty of our customers start with half a serving in water and work up. Easy to digest, with no heavy, bloated feeling, is the standard we hold it to.
Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass. Enjoy as part of a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Read this before you buy.
Goat whey is still dairy. It contains milk protein and is not suitable for anyone with a cows' milk allergy, and we'd rather lose the sale than blur that line. There's also no human study comparing goat whey with cow whey on comfort, so we won't pretend there is. What we can give you is a short label and honest numbers. How it sits with you is the only evidence that really matters, so start gently: half a serving in water, taken slowly.
Made by someone whose gut was never calm.
For years I had a gut that was never calm. When I started treating my body as one system, with food, training, sleep and swapping cow dairy for goat, things finally began to change. Kultra is the protein I could not find: goat whey, vanilla bean and stevia leaf. It did not fix me on its own, and nothing will. But it made the protein part easy.

“Being a regular user of cow whey protein which would leave me bloated and sluggish. I switched to goat whey protein
I took it for the first time after training and I notice immediately how light it was on the stomach and I felt alert and energetic throughout the day.
I'm sold this is my go to from now

“I have been trying all sorts of premium whey and beef protein powders in the past year ( Transparent Labs, Organized, Form) , and they all made me bloated and uncomfortable. Kultra is the first protein powder that does not make me feel bloated and heavy. It also taste nice, especially in yogurt and plant milk. Will keep buying it.”

“As a Nutritionist, I really appreciate the quality of this product and the thought behind its ingredients. I particularly like that it’s made with A2 protein, which many people find easier to digest than conventional A1-containing dairy proteins. As someone with acne-prone skin, it’s really important for me to be mindful of the ingredients I consume, so having a product with just 3 ingredients leaves me reassured that it won’t be a trigger for me.
I was really impressed with how well it mixed with my coconut milk. It blended smoothly, with no powdery texture, and the taste was really nice - it’s similar to a vanilla milkshake honestly! I also experienced no bloating or digestive discomfort after taking it, which was a big plus for me. Overall, I’ve had a really positive experience with this product and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a high quality protein supplement.”Molly Francis -
“Love this product! I don’t experience any bloating or flatulence with this protein powder like I do with others”

“Usually don’t feel great after protein shakes but I can tell this is a high quality whey. I’ve already recommended to my friends”

“I I was honestly pretty skeptical about trying goat milk protein powder, but Kultra completely changed my mind. You genuinely can’t tell that it’s made from goat milk, and I was really impressed by how good it tastes and how my body feels after using it.
One of the biggest differences I noticed is that I don’t get the same bloated feeling I’ve experienced with traditional protein powders that can be loaded with additives and cow dairy. It feels much lighter and easier on my body while still being an easy way to get extra protein into my day.”Peyton -
“This tastes amazing!
I personally struggle with cows milk which gives me chest and back acne so I sought out an alternative. This protein powder tastes so nice and it dissolves perfectly in my shake. After about a week of having it daily I’ve had no chest and back acne, no bloating and for the first time ever look forward to having a protein shake. I would high recommend this protein powder to anyone. Plus an added bonus is it has only 3 ingredients! Just incredible! High praises to Kultra for this incredible product. Thank you.”Ethan Hodges -
“Tastes just like (if not better than) any high quality cow whey — minus the bloating, acne, and inflammation. Super versatile product that mixes well, it’s a great addition to my coffee, baked treats, as well as the usual protein shakes and yogurt bowls. Would recommend to anyone who likes knowing exactly what’s in their food or has underlying health issues.”

“I have arthritis and was told to check out goat protein. I’ve found regular whey doesn’t sit well with my gut and joints. This brand has been fantastic so far. Will likely be my go to for the next little bit!”

“I ordered the sample because I was skeptical at first. Honestly, it tastes similar to other vanilla proteins I’ve had but in a good way because it doesn’t come with the downsides of cow dairy.”

“I love mixing this in with my morning coffee since it lets me start the day off with some protein. The vanilla flavour makes for a nice drink and combines well with a coffee!”

“This is a very good-quality protein powder with clean ingredients. The taste is nice if you like something sweet, but personally, I was hoping they would offer an unflavoured version. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t buy it again.”

“I’ve tried goat milk in the past and didn’t love the taste but this protein tastes like any other high quality cow whey so I was pleasantly surprised. I noticed that this didn’t cause any indigestion issues which I usually experience with other proteins. Really excited to make this a staple in my routine!”

“Recently made the switch to Kultra and so happy I did. I quite enjoy the flavour and already noticing improvement in my acne.”

Fair questions
Is Kultra lactose-free?
No. Each 33g serving contains about 1.5g of naturally occurring lactose. That's a low amount, and food-safety bodies note most people tolerate far more in one sitting, but if you have a diagnosed intolerance you know your own threshold best.
Is goat whey dairy-free?
No. Goat milk is dairy and contains milk proteins. If you have a cows' milk allergy, Kultra is not suitable for you, as the proteins are closely related.
Why no gums or thickeners?
Gums exist to make watery mixes feel creamy. Because nearly all of our scoop is the whey itself, we don't need them, and leaving them out means less for a sensitive stomach to deal with.
Is goat whey easier to digest than cow whey?
Honest answer: nobody has run that head-to-head study in humans, so we won't claim it. What we control is everything else on the label, and our customers' reviews speak for how it sits with them. Start with half a serving and let your own stomach vote.
How should I start if my stomach is sensitive?
Start with half a serving in water rather than milk, drunk slowly, not immediately after hard training. Give it a few days before you judge it, and work up to the full serving.
